About Us

About Us

Muskegon Bowmen is one of the oldest and largest archery clubs in Michigan. We are a self maintained and self funded not for profit archery club comprised of persons that shoot traditional and compound bows. Some shoot just for the enjoyment of target shooting, while others like to increase their skills for hunting.

Our club is affiliated with, National Field Archery Association, Michigan Archery Association, Lake Michigan Archery Association and Michigan Bow Hunters Association and the Michigan United Conservation Clubs. We actively support the annual Michigan Sportsmen for Youth and Pheasants Forever Youth Day events and have a large youth archery league.

Muskegon Bowmen began in 1937 when archers got together to pursue the sport of archery. This was also the first year of special archery deer season in Michigan. The charter of Muskegon Bowmen is to encourage and support the ancient sport of archery. All types of archery, traditional and modern, are enjoyed on a year round basis on our indoor and outdoor ranges.

Many thousands of archers have shot with Muskegon Bowmen Archery Club over the past seventy seven years. We shot at many locations in Muskegon County before building a clubhouse at 2380 Central Road, Muskegon, Michigan in the mid seventy's.

Muskegon Bowmen also boasts some of the best shooting facilities available. Our club is situated on 50+ acres in Northern Muskegon County. Our clubhouse is surrounded by 3 outdoor ranges including:

  • A Broadhead course that includes seven elevated shooting platforms and 28 targets of varying terrain, distances and shooting positions.
  • A groomed field course with pavilion and 14 stations with distances ranging from 5 yards to 80 yards.
  • A well kept bale target range, from 15 to 65 yards.
  • A 30 target 3D range when shoots are held.

Clubhouse and Indoor Ranges:

  • A full 40 yard indoor range with league and open shooting.
  • Bow shop equipment room with a separate 6 lane 20 yard indoor range.
  • Modern clubhouse facilities that offer refreshments during shoots and special events.

Muskegon Bowmen has many programs available throughout the year for archers at all levels beginner to advanced. A sample of them follows:

    • Youth league where young archers can take part in the sport.
    • Target leagues, offering competition and a great time
    • Bow hunter leagues to keep your shooting straight and group tight.
    • Indoor and outdoor 3D shooting events.
    • All archers are invited to join our club and participate in our leagues, fun shoots and competition events throughout the year.
